The Wakhan Corridor

The north east of Afghanistan has a strip of land several hundred miles long which is one of the bleakest places on the earth where people scratch out a living. National Geographic has an interesting article entitled “Stranded On The Roof Of The World” about the corridor which is well worth reading if you think your life is tough… here.
